An airport you´re not desperate to get out of. [04/11/2019]   An airport you´re not desperate to get out of.

The British daily The Guardian has chosen the 25 best architectural works of the 21st century.

Its critic Oliver Wainwright has named terminal T4 at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport in the 18th place of its classification.

For this newspaper the work of Richard Rogers and Estudio Lamela achieves the achievement of "an airport from which you are not desperate to leave".

Above the T4, Wainwright points out that "from its gently undulating bamboo roof, through a forest of columns that branch out in rainbow colours, to the large circular openings that bring daylight to its lowest levels, it provides a gentle relaxing balm for the stress of international travelers.

"Designed by Estudio Lamela, it has a relaxing quality that is difficult to convey in photographs. From the soft acoustics to the merciful lack of fluorescent lighting," he adds.

We are proud to say that Puertas Padilla S.L. has participated in this project by installing fire doors throughout the airport. We are delighted that Estudio Lamela has thought of our product for a project of this importance and we thank them for their trust.
